POSITION SUMMARY:  
Under the direction of the Senior General Manager, the center Marketing Manager is responsible for driving the sales/traffic and NOI growth of the property by creating and implementing strategic and effective marketing strategies. 
 
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:  
  • Strategic Planning and Execution – Works with the management team and corporate marketing team to develop a long-term strategic position for the property in response to consumer and market dynamics that differentiates it from the competition. Leads the development of the property’s annual marketing plan and budget in support of property business plan goals. Drives execution of all marketing plan programs/elements, including the localization of national programming as appropriate.
  • Digital Marketing - Supports and drives digital business concepts including website development, SEO, email marketing and social media in order to drive national and local goals and increase consumer participation in all programs. Oversees and coordinates all center content assuring accuracy and value to the customer.
  • Leasing Assistance – Supports and collaborates with all sales divisions of the organization to achieve set goals. Participates in the leasing process, development of leasing/sales materials and ideal representation of the property to appropriate retailers (existing and potential).Conceptualizes and creates programming that can drive inventory for Specialty Leasing/Sponsorship Sales to sell and activate in center.
  • Revenue Generation/Sponsorship – Maximizes non-traditional revenue through the execution of appropriate income-generating events, promotions and activities. Drives the effort for obtaining local sponsorships for mall revenues, programs and events.
  • Customer Service - Responsible for the development and management of all customer service initiatives. Develop new ideas and best practices that support both the retail center and the office asset. Manage and supervise the customer service staff. Oversee budget and ensure appropriate allocation of resources.
  • Retailer Relations and Sales Production – Create retailer focused marketing opportunities and programs to drive traffic and sales by developing outstanding retailer relations and maintaining a thorough understanding of retailer sales performance/store productivity, occupancy costs, percentage rent analysis, category analysis, retail trends, developments in trade area, local/regional economy and competition and any other factors impacting overall center performance. Encourage retailer participation to promote their business and add value to center marketing efforts.
  • Financial Management - Ensures and maintains accurate budgets and monthly forecasts. Authorizes expenses in accordance with established policies and procedures while managing those expenses to set budget amounts.
  • Vendor Management – Manages and coordinates the relationship with key vendors, such as advertising agencies, PR firms and e-commerce / web development companies who produce marketing efforts on behalf of the property, ensuring consistency, continuity and quality.
  • Research/Results Measurement – Coordinates research activity for center (customer studies, trade area demographics, customized research initiatives, etc.) and effectively utilizes research information in the development and execution of the property’s business and marketing plans. Develops and reports appropriate measurement tools to monitor the effectiveness and overall success of various marketing efforts.
  • Community Outreach - Develops and implements community outreach programs and takes an active role in local community organizations. Professionally networks with the appropriate community/government leaders, institutions, events. etc.
  • Tourism Partnerships – Bridge property initiatives with those of surrounding tourism partners by taking an active role in understanding the opportunities available and meeting regularly with those neighboring stakeholders.
  • Team Building – Partner with Senior General Manager to motivate the team and create a healthy rewarding environment.
 
 
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
  • Bachelor degree in Marketing, Business Administration or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a marketing position; retail experience strongly preferred.
  • Must have prior leadership skills and ability to effectively manage people and processes while maintaining a positive, friendly disposition in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Must possess a strong internal drive and initiative to produce results.
  • Able to develop strategic solutions.
