POSITION SUMMARY:  
Data drives business decisions, informs marketing spend, and is a key indicator of growth.  We are looking for a digital data expert; someone who can own data – with a focus on digital - across marketing efforts for the entire company. Someone who will be challenged to evolve the role of data in building strategy and assessing performance.
 
The Director manages and works alongside the Data Analyst to develop cross-media measurement strategy for our properties across multiple verticals. This individual should have a strong understanding of tools in the digital analytics and research space, and will be familiar with various modeling and technology offerings to recognize project opportunities and represent these offerings to business leaders.  The Director will be collaborative and inspiring in their drive to define and execute the strategy for how we leverage digital data and analytics in our decision-making across the HHC organization.
 
We need a left brain – right brain thinker, somebody who can manage and simplify data, find meaning, create best-in-class dashboards, and make it accessible to our clients and internal teams
 
 
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:  
  • Be the gatekeeper of all digital data and dashboards.
  • Perform hygiene and quality control steps for all data sets.
  • Manage data sources including: web analytic tools, media analytics, customer databases, social listening tools, search tools, syndicated data, financial data, research and survey tools, etc. 
  • Create and own dashboards using existing data, and data from new channels.
  • Focus on the delivery of data driven insights and revenue through the development of integrated, brand-unique programs.
  • Identify and test new growth opportunities in the digital data space.
  • Manage the vendor base by leveraging the portfolio power of Howard Hughes Corporation as well as evaluating new entrants into the space and the tool set.
  • Drive strategies which reflect the complex interaction of multi-channel devices – Desktop, Mobile, and Tablet – into a synergized approach embracing brick and mortar and potentially other key third party vendors where appropriate.
  • Architect consistent overall data and analytical toolsets that leverage key systems such as Omniture, Adobe, Foresee, Google Analytics and others similar in nature.
  • Oversee Operational analytics particularly as it relates to Customer Service and the back-end operations of our digital offerings.
  • Recommend key strategies – commercial and organizational – which leverage decisions across Marketing, Analytics, CRM/BI and with our sales & retail operation teams.
  • Develop key working relationships with brand senior team members, particularly the Marketing and Operations teams with a view to leverage the insight and data Howard Hughes Corporation is collecting and leveraging across its efforts.
  • Continue to challenge existing practices and process as HHC leverages its portfolio business across the United States.
  • Deputize for the Vice President, Digital Marketing and assist in underpinning a consistent approach across the digital team, generally.
     
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree require, MBA preferred.
  • 7 years of digital data / analytics experience.
  • Must have authored dashboards from scratch to fulfill demanding business needs.
  • Expert Omniture/Adobe or Google Analytics experience ideally within the portfolio of global consumer organization.
  • Business understanding of the technical structure of an end-to-end data process.
  • Robust leadership, management, and influencing skills.
  • Examples of ensuring alignment between different matrixed teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience to collaborate and drive influence across a matrix organization.
  • Strong knowledge of the planning and budgeting process and practices.
  • Demonstrated strength in execution and analysis that drives results.
