Over the past six years, The Howard Hughes Corporation has diligently worked to revitalize the South Street Seaport District. The newly renovated Seaport District will be world renowned for events, entertainment and retail. After completion, the Seaport District will encompass seven buildings on several city blocks totaling more than 400,000 square feet filled with cutting-edge dining, shopping, entertainment and cultural offerings that will be one of the city’s ultimate destinations.
As part of the redevelopment effort, Milan-based 10 Corso Como will be opening in the Seaport District as part of the districts ongoing transformation. The New York store will be 10 Corso Como’s only U.S. location and is consistent with other offerings curated to date by The Howard Hughes Corporation for the revitalized Seaport District that will include culinary experiences from renowned restaurateurs Jean-Georges Vongerichten and the Momofuku Group led by David Chang, a 40,000 square foot food market by Jean-Georges, iPic Theaters and the new Pier 17® highlighted by its 1.5-acre rooftop that will be programmed year-round and become one of the world’s most recognized entertainment destinations.
10 Corso Como New York is seeking a part-time Gallery Manager to help organize approximately 4 exhibitions per year in our 1,800 sq. ft gallery on Fulton Street (within the 28,000 sq. ft store).  The ideal candidate has a love and appreciation for contemporary art, design, and photography and is well-versed in industry trends. They are also expected to have a wide network – inclusive of artists, dealers and buyers.  The Manager will be a master organizer, and an excellent communicator and collaborator with first-class coordinating skills.
  • Coordinating events and exhibits in close collaboration with the Milan gallery 
  • Establishing and developing contact with the artist and their affiliates (estate, museum, gallery etc); selecting works of art to show with 10CC Milan and NYC
  • Managing agreements and contracts between 10CC and the artist and their affiliates
  • Managing all insurance requirements
  • Managing customs, transport and shipping using a courier specialized in art
  • Identifying and dealing with framers
  • Coordinating the installation of exhibits, including opening nights and private viewings.
  • Managing the 10CC gallery budget
  • Creating invitations for the exhibitions with input from artists and 10 CC
  • Building and managing a database with contacts (selling and non-selling)
  • Managing the PR with journalists; organizing interviews with artists as necessary together with Marketing team
  • Organizing a press kit with the marketing team including writing a biography of the artist
  • Managing daily communication with visitors and buyers, maintaining an archive and dossier of events
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Must have previous gallery or cultural institutional experience.
  • High level of ownership, accountability and initiative
  • Outstanding communication skills (written, oral, and listening).
  • High level of time management and organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and knowledgeable in Microsoft Word
