Summerlin began to take shape in 1990 and has ranked among the nation’s top-selling master planned communities for three decades, holding the #1 spot for 12 consecutive years, a remarkable achievement by any standard. Emerging into the new era of Las Vegas being a professional sports town, Howard Hughes has capitalized on this moment by rebranding their Triple-A baseball team to the Las Vegas Aviators® and relocated the team to the newest Howard Hughes development the Las Vegas Ballpark®, a 10,000-capacity baseball stadium that opened April 9, 2019. The stadium is located immediately south of City National Arena the practice facility for the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights. These two major sports facilities make Downtown Summerlin not only a popular location to shop, dine and be entertained, but also an emerging sports hub.
